COVID -19 may be the story of the hour but we must not forget that other things happen, like cancer, burns, accidents and illnesses that require blood transfusions.

If you are well, please consider giving blood as those who need it will be very grateful.

Contact the [Red Cross](https://www.redcross.org.au/) on 13 14 95 or log onto [Donate Blood](https://www.donateblood.com.au/blood-donor-centre/newcastle-donor-centre) to check out what spots are available.

Collections centres are at Broadmeadow and Maitland.

They are open and you are essential as 1 in 3 people need your donation.
