A new review examines how well conventional medical management (CMM) relieves pain in patients eligible for spinal cord stimulation (SCS). Analysing data from multiple clinical trials, the study found that CMM alone does not lead to meaningful pain reduction and has not improved significantly over time. These findings raise questions about its role as a control in future SCS research.
